Anubis is one of the most known gods and most important of the Egyptian religion.
After the murder of Osiris by his Seth brother, he invents the momification what explains its epithet of "that which is the strip" and thus allows to the god ressusciter.
He thus becomes the owner of the embalmers. He introduces also deaths into beyond and protects their burial from where its many representations in funerary decorations.
He is often represented, like here, in the shape of a man with head of wild dog or jackal. He also appears in the shape of these animals, lying on a base in form of mastaba.
