Napoleon at Versailles - The Official Guide
GK197851
FRENCH LANGUAGE
Although Versailles is first and foremost a great royal residence, a symbol of the French monarchy, we often forget that it was also an imperial residence, for which Napoleon imagined great projects.
Versailles still preserves today the first French collection of works of the First Empire, paintings and sculptures for the most part commissioned by the Emperor himself.
This guide is divided into two parts, one devoted to Napoleon's projects and a visit to the Trianons and the Queen's Hamlet; the other to the collections in the Historical Galleries, from the Rite Room to the Carriage Museum.
