This cylindrical lamp with lampshade was created on the occasion of the exhibition "Mirror of the world. Masterpieces from the Dresden cabinet of curiosities" at the musée du Luxembourg from September 14th 2022 to January 15th 2023.
The picture shows a detail of the Gujarat pearl basin, probably late 16th century, made of polished mother-of-pearl leaf and wood (h. 6.0 cm, d. 43.0 cm / Grünes Gewölbe, Staatliche Kunstsammlungen Dresden).
