1780-1830. So what story is told between these two time limits? The birth of a battle. That of the female painters. Some of them are well known: Élisabeth Vigée Le Brun, Adélaïde Labille-Guiard, Marie-Guillemine Benoist, Marguerite Gérard... But apart from these few rare figures, the majority of these painters are little known or even unknown to the general public.

Exhibition at the Musée du Luxembourg, from March 3rd 2021 to July 4th 2021.
