GrandPalaisRmn cast of the Victory of Samothrace - SAMO HIP collection based on the Paros marble original exhibited at the Louvre.
Extensive research into Greek sculptures has revealed traces of blue, green, or yellow red pigments, indicating that these works have been previously painted. The GrandPalaisRmn cast workshop thus developed the idea of dressing its reproductions in monochrome and matt colours, in tones that correspond to current trends.
Discovered on the island of Samothrace at the end of the 19th century, this sculpture was made to commemorate a maritime victory. The extraordinary virtuosity of the drapery gives the work its power and the illusion of movement that brings it to life; Victory appears to rest on the prow.
3D technology was used to accurately reproduce this scale model and to integrate the latest restorations made on the original.
