The Musée national et domaine du château de Pau is opening the doors of the Maison Baylaucq to the children's portraits in the Gramont collection, which form a highly original body of work from the 16th century to the 1920s, remarkable both in terms of the number and quality of the works.
The twenty or so pastels, drawings, paintings and family souvenirs on display bear witness to the special relationship between the house of Gramont and the artists of their time, such as Philip Alexius de Laszlo.
These works reflect the history of the Gramont family and the environment in which the models portrayed lived. They also reveal parts of the history of France, to which the Gramonts made a fundamental contribution.
Exhibition "L'air de famille" - Portraits d'enfants de la collection Gramont at the musée national et domaine du château de Pau from 17 February to 21 May 2017.
