Françoise's portrait
Françoise Gilot shared Picasso's life for a year, and played a major role in both his life and his work, particularly through drawing, which was then amplified and enhanced by lithography. Françoise's face soon appears: a ravishing oval, radiant eyes, hair whose opulence is suggested by the emptiness held back by a few Matissian lines.
