The previously unreleased discovery of a major artist broken by destiny
This previously unreleased film provides a rare glimpse of the dazzling works of this Portuguese painter, who is said to be the "last secret of modern art".
Considered to be one of the most talented artists of his generation and being friends with Modigliani, Brancusi and the couple Sonia and Robert Delaunay, he rubbed shoulders with the greatest names of his time: Braque, Picasso, Duchamp, Matisse, Kandinsky and Léger.
Being a young artist, he exhibited in major European cities and even went to New York, where he was celebrated by the Armory Show.
An attractive and wealthy prodigy, he achieved a great deal of critical acclaim during his lifetime, but his premature death meant he was plunged into oblivion for more than 50 years.
Christophe Fonseca has been for fifteen years conservatories of music and fine arts before attending university of cinema and audiovisual. During the last twenty years, Christophe Fonseca has made forty films, documentaries and feature stories regularly critically acclaimed and rewarded with several distinctions.
