Both chronological and thematic, the catalogue retraces the different moments of the critical and artistic reception of Picasso's work, the stages of the formation of the myth associated with his name.
The major stylistic phases and certain emblematic periods of Picasso, such as Les Demoiselles d'Avignon and Guernica, to which a significant part is devoted, are reflected in the contemporary works of Erro, Hockney, Johns, Lichtenstein, Kippenberger, Warhol and Jeff Koons.
