This stole is inspired by a detail of one of the most famous works of the Japanese artist Katsushika Hokusai (1760-1849), "Under the wave off Kanagawa" ("the big wave") (Kanagawa oki namiura) 1830-32.
Katsushika Hokusai (1760-1849), painter, draftsman, engraver and author is the most famous artist in the world. He renewed the art of printmaking with his famous works such as "Under the Wave off Kanagawa" which is the first of a serie of Thirty-six views of Mount Fuji published between 1831 and 1833.
