The work and its artist

Odilon Redon (1840-1916)

Odilon Redon is a symbolist painter of the 19th century. His painting with pastel colors and mysterious atmospheres, appeals to our imagination. These compositions are like visions, waking dreams that transport us far from the tangible reality from which the artist deliberately wants to detach himself. Born in 1840 in Bordeaux, he excelled in the art of drawing, he used a lot of engraving and lithography in his work.
