"Ulysses, Journey in a Mediterranean of Legends" aims to demonstrate the influence of this character on Western culture and the history of the arts.
The exhibition, and the accompanying catalogue, are conceived as a journey in the footsteps of Ulysses around the Mediterranean. Sculptures, ceramics, art objects, drawings, photographs, paintings, covering a period from Antiquity to the present day, as well as contemporary installations specially designed for the exhibition, will show how the styles and forms used by artists throughout history are constructed, sometimes resulting from unexpected syncretisms linked to changes in mentalities and aesthetic developments.
For the Odyssey builds a visual pathway that allows us to dive back into the whole succession of styles in the history of Western art.
