If Delaune remains a key figure of the French Renaissance, it is above all for the fortune of his production of prints, tirelessly reproduced and copied on multiple media long after his death. His engraved models are successfully adapted to all contemporary craft production: gold and silversmith, jewellery, watchmaking, goldsmith enamels and Limoges enamels, niello, leather and binding, countless are the works inspired by the shapes, subjects and ornaments of his engravings. From model to object, from innovation to archetype, Delaune's art has survived the centuries and techniques by shaping, in its wake, a whole section of French art.
