This poster is inspired by Pablo Picasso's famous drawing Dove of Peace (1949).
In 1949, a few years after World War II, a huge peace convention was organised in Paris by the Mouvement mondial des partisans de la paix, a communist-leaning pro-peace group. For the occasion, Picasso designed a poster symbolizing the peace movement.
For this poster, Picasso drew the outline of a dove similar to the white pigeons that he kept in a cage in his workshop, and those in the trees of his childhood in Malaga, Spain.
