WRITTEN IN FRENCH
This catalogue is important to discover and understand the original and rigorous approach of this French artist (born in 1939) who, with his works in white earthenware tiles or his red flower pots or those covered with gold leaf, filled with cement, deliberately devoid of any expressiveness, created a language that is not only a plastic invention, but a true and authentic vision of the world.
After studying horticulture, Jean-Pierre Raynaud began his artistic career in the early 60s and made a name for himself in 1968 with a set of 300 red pots exhibited at the Kunsthalle in Düsseldorf, then with his House in white ceramic tiles that the artist destroyed in 1993.
