Kaleidoscope - The Lady and the unicorn - To my only desireLog in to see prices
This kaleidoscope is illustrated with a detail from the famous tapestry of the Lady and the Unicorn, which can be seen in the Cluny Museum - National Museum of the Middle Ages in Paris.
The remaining sixth sense, explained only by the inscription "À mon seul désir" (To my only desire), has inspired countless theories. Without excluding a possible meaning in the register of courtly love, it could be a reference to free will: the woman with her decorative headdress and refined clothing, renouncing temporal pleasures.
Unlike classic kaleidoscopes, which make patterns from small pieces inside the instrument, teleidoscopes forms kaleidoscopic patterns from objects around you.
