Pompon Toys Collection by Vilac

In collaboration with the Rmn-GP and the Musée d'Orsay, French designer Gérard Lo Monaco has imagined the "Pompon Toys" collection.

The collection takes inspiration from the famous animals sculpted by French artist François Pompon (1855-1933), and has been manufactured by VILAC, the French specialist in wooden toys for children.

Art director, graphic designer, author, illustrator, paper engineer, Gérard Lo Monaco is best known for his pop-up books. The Pompon Toys range is his first experience in toy design.

Vilac is the French specialist in wooden games and toys for children, located in France in the heart of the Jura.

Children's Rocker Polar Bear

This wooden rocking toy is inspired by the famous sculpture of the White Bear by François Pompon. Recommended for ages 3 and up. With his small portable workbench, the sculptor François Pompon (1855-1933) liked to walk around the Jardin des Plantes in Paris. There he could observe animals and make small sketches. Back in his studio, he sculpted bears, panthers, but also dogs, chickens and rabbits, simplifying the forms to find the very essence of each animal.
